Ba Zi or Four Pillars of Destiny, whose name refers to the name is based on the four components of our date of birth, i.e.: year, month, day and hour. This is one of the old Chinese methods of reading and predicting fate.

Ba Zi is a representation of the five elements of Qi energy that we receive at birth.

Each of the title pillars is presented in the form of two Chinese symbols, one of which is the "Earthly Branch" and the other is the "Heavenly Trunk". Therefore, we get eight signs that may belong to the five basic elements (transformations), i.e.: Water, Metal, Wood, Fire and Earth.

A group of eight characters is calledpersonal chart.

Their mutual arrangement helps the Feng Shui expert to characterize a person, his life and the trends occurring in this life - from the moment of birth until death.

Using the possibilities offered by Ba Zi, we can analyze the past, present and future of a given person. Its features, predispositions, potentials and threats can be determined. Knowing them, we can make such decisions and actions,to shape our lives the way we want.

Many of you have heard of people being referred to using Chinese animal names, e.g. Metal Tiger, Water Dragon or Wooden Tiger. These are terms assigned in connection with the date of birth (year, month, day, hour) and are used in many horoscopes.

In Ba Zi, where a person is defined by his or her date of birth and may be one of the five basic elements that we mentioned above. Each element can have two types of polarization, i.e. Yang or Yin.

According to Ba Zi, we are no longer a Metal Horse but, for example, a Yin Tree. The strength of our personal element depends on the season, specifically the month of birth, which determines the quality of our personal element and the remaining four.

For interpretation purposes, the individual elements are divided into five elements:

1. Parallel - coincides with our personal element. There may also be other elements in the chart, such as ours, and they are an element of the parallel.

2. Work - it is an element created by our personal element (e.g. Fire creates Earth).

3. Wealth - it is an element created by the Work and controlled by our personal element.

4. Power - this is an element created by Wealth, but it can control our personal element.

5. Source - this is the element that creates our personal element.

Parallel and Source strengthen us and Work, Wealth and Power weaken us. If the strength of the first set is greater than the second one, then our graph is strong. The inverse relationship says our graph is weak.

Our life is not just the energy we see in the chart. The time that accompanies us in life also brings energy. This energy affects the energy of the chart and causes various effects in the form of specific circumstances. The energy coming over time and the energy of the chart are based on the same foundations, i.e. the Chinese solar calendar. Its idea is based on the movement of the sun and the changing seasons.

With the energy of time can come a mixture of five elements, thus dividing them according to the above order:

– the parallel will bring e.g. friends or enemies

– the work will bring, for example, some achievements or children

– wealth will bring e.g. money or success

– power will bring e.g. authority or restrictions

– the source will bring e.g. support or overwhelm

The interpretation depends on the condition of the personal element, the characteristics of the entire chart and the circumstances in which a given person finds himself. The Four Pillars may give a certain tendency, but if we know their message, we can avoid or mitigate bad announcements and take advantage of opportunities that arise. That's all the power of Ba Zi!

What does Ba Zi give us?

Sometimes we feel that something is wrong in our lives. We seem to have control over everything - everything is "reasonably well", but some things are out of our control. It is very likely that we are at a low point in our lives and changes are required. The chart will show what the problem is and help us choose the optimal path of changes.

Sometimes we work really hard, we double and triple ourselves, and yet we see no results that would be adequate to the efforts we put in. It is very likely that we do something professionally that does not serve us or even harms us. The chart will show which element we have too little and which we have too much - what activity is best for us and what tactics we should use.

Sometimes we wonder why our relationship is not going well and we look for someone to blame for this problem. Perhaps neither party is at fault! The problem may lie in the lack of compatibility between the partners, or maybe the differences are so small that a partnership analysis will allow us to indicate what we need to change in ourselves to achieve symbiosis.

These are just a few of the many cases in which this invaluable knowledge is applicable.

What will you learn from analyzing Ba Zi?
